Description

The German Federal Government will create 958 new jobs in 2010. According to the budget draft for 2010, 347 jobs will be created in federal authorities and some 600 jobs in subordinate agencies. The federal authorities with the highest staff growth will be the Ministries of Finance (60 posts), Education and Research (52 posts), and Labour and Social Affairs (33 posts).

A spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance said that the effective number of job creation would be much lower because 581 jobs are to be cut at the same time. Moreover, personnel costs have been reduced by 1.5% per year since the 1990s.
