Description

FloraHolland, one of the largest auctioneers of flowers in the Netherlands (and the world), announced it will cut 140 jobs in 2013, out of a total of 3200. The job loss will take place in 2013.

No forced dismissals are expected. FloraHolland expects that in the future an additional 100 jobs might be cut.

FloraHolland is a co-operative organisation with 5000 members (of which 750 come from outside the Netherlands). Background of the measure is a drop in the level of services the organisation provides for its members, mainly due to automation of the auction process, which is less labour intensive.
