Public hospital "Kirkovich" in Stara Zagora is to cut 296 out of 1,424 jobs.
As announced, the cost-cutting plan envisages that 43 doctors, 133 nurses, 74 paramedics and 46 auxiliary staff will be made redundant. 53 of these job cuts will take place through natural attrition.
As reported, the restructuring plan has been approved by the Ministry of Health and the hospital management, in the framework of a major reform in the healthcare institution.
According to media reports, there wil be a possible additional wave of 150 job cuts in the future, depending on the financial outcomes after the restructuring.
