J Sainsbury, a supermarket, has announced that it will create 5,000 new jobs in the UK during the next twelve months. These jobs will be created as the company increases its number of stores. The company, which currently employs 150,000 people, will open these stores across the UK as part of their strategy to increase the number of outlets.

UPDATE: On 7 May 2009, Sainsbury's revealed plans to create 100 new jobs in West Belfast. The new site in Andersonstown will start operating by August 2009. The company is already advertising jobs in check-out, shop floor and supervisory posts.
