American fast food chain KFC is to open five units or more by the end of 2017. The company has announced the creation of 1,107 new jobs by the end of 2017 when the company is expected to reach an employee base of 3,300.  With a total workforce of 2,193 employees, KFC currently operates 63 restaurants in Romania across various locations (Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Suceava, Oradea, Pitesti and Brasov).

KFC entered the Romanian market in 1997 as a franchise operated by US Food Network.
