Additional Information

German truck manufacturer MAN will cut 1,800 jobs as part of its austerity programme by the end of 2017. The company plans to do so without compulsory redundancies nor site closures. A total of 400 out of 1,800 job cuts will be affected in production areas and the remaining 1,400 in management positions. In March 2015, MAN had announced its plans to step up its austerity measures previously limited to its truck division and extend these to the entire group.

MAN is a German mechanical engineering company and parent company of the MAN Group. MAN is headquartered in Munich where 9,200 employees are working. Its primary output is for the automotive industry, particularly heavy trucks. Currently, 36,000 employees are working at MAN worldwide of which 20,000 work in Germany.
