Description

Swiss food company Nestlé announced on 23 September 2005 that it was closing its cereals factory in Hamoir, near Liège. 112 people were affected by the decision from January 2006 on, when production was to be relocated to Spain and Portugal. Management of the factory planned to retrain 32 employees in order to develop a new production activity. On 11 August 2006, almost a year after the closure of the factory, 32 employees are working for Belhourte, the new company operating on the site. 44 employees found a new job and 30 people took early retirement.
