Description

Online supermarket Ocado has announced that it is to open a new site in Sunderland. The decision will result in the creation of 300 new jobs. The location of the new business will be on the former vaux brewery site, which closed in 1999 and was bought by the local council in 2011. The local council welcomed the news that Ocado would be building its business in the city, and a spokeperson for Ocado commented that they were looking forward to creating job opportunities for local people. It is understood that the majority of the roles will be in customer service and it is expected that the roles will be filled by the end of 2019.
