Pizza Hut, the US-based global pizza restaurant chain has confirmed a company restructure with closing 29 restaurants across the UK, putting 450 jobs at risk of redundancy. The restructure includes an agreement with landlords and creditors to save costs and it is foreseen to save more than 5,000 jobs.
A spokesperson for the company said the restructure provided 'a strong platform' for the long-term future of the business.
Pizza Hut Restaurants had 244 branches and employed 5,700 people in the UK before the COVID-19 pandemic started. All restaurants were closed during the UK’s lockdown in the Spring and the hospitality sector continues to face challenges as local and regional restrictions are being put in place.
