Additional Information
On 23 November 2010, the car manufacturer Renault announced its intention to cut 3,000 jobs in France over the next three years using an early retirement programme. The programme is aimed at employees who are at least 58 years of age and have done shift-work for more than 15 years or those who have a permanent incapacity of at least 10%. Such workers will be able to leave the company and earn 75% of their most recent gross wage until they are able to retire with their full pension. The company expects to sell fewer cars in France over the next three years and wants to relocate car production to lower cost countries. Renault is currently building a new plant in Tunisia.
