Additional Information

Saint-Gobain Cristalería, a subsidiary in Spain of the French group of glass production for construction and automotive, has announced its intention to implement an employment regulation plan (ERE), which will affect about 100 workers at its plants in Avilés (Asturias) and L'Arboc (Tarragona). Specifically, the 100 redundancies will take place in the Sekurit division, dedicated to glass for vehicles, and will be divided between 60 employees at the L'Arboc plant and 40 at the Avilés plant. After the presentation of the redundancy plan, the period of negotiation with trade unions has begun.
In addition, the company is proposing a temporary lay-off procedure (ERTE) to be applied for 12 days in June.
Saint-Gobain is trying to mitigate the setback suffered by its business in recent years, which has resulted in losses of €4 million in 2021, a figure that could rise to €6.6 million this year 2022, as a result of the complicated situation of the automotive industry.
