The Szczecin Shipyard is searching for qualified shipbuilders. In 2006, 1,300 of its workers (out of a total of 5,500 employed at the shipyard) left work, many of them heading to Scandinavia to take up similar jobs for considerably higher pay (five times more than in Szczecin). The shipyard is seeking to again achieve an employee headcount of 5,500 persons through new hiring.
