The Swedish telephone company Telia cuts 240 jobs in Norway. The restructuring of the company is due to the acquisition of the TV network GET in July 2018, according to the Director. The company has started the redundancy process by offering severance packages. Other planned restructuring measures include a hiring freeze and the termination of contracts with consultants. The trade union was prepared that a downsizing would take place, but not that it would happen this early, according to the shop steward.
The company has its headquarters in Stockholm, and operates in Northern and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and South Asia.
