Additional Information

British global retailer Tesco has announced that it will close 18 stores across Poland and cut 600 jobs through a collective dismissal programme. The programme will be carried out between 23 February and 31 March 2018, and the conditions of the programme are currently being negotiated with the local trade unions. According to the source, the restructuring event will affect 600 employees, including 233 personnel managers. The company also announced that, in total, 21 stores will be closed in 2018 (3 stores were closed down in January 2018).

Tesco has been operating in Poland since 1992 and currently has about 400 stores in the country.

In 2017, the company announced two restructuring programmes (in March and September) resulting in a reduction of 1,100 jobs.
