German multinational steel conglomerate ThyssenKrupp will reduce its European workforce by at least 2,000 employees. The company implements a large optimization programme in its Steel Europe division, implying the closure, relocation or sale of business units and facilities. The plants of ThyssenKrupp under review are Duisburg-Beeckerwerth, Dortmund and Neuwied (Germany) and Galmed (Spain).
