Additional Information

Tradeteam, a British drinks distributor has announced plans to close its hub in Tinsley, Sheffield in July, making more than 200 driver and warehouse jobs redundant.

A spokesperson for the company has said that the effect of the COVID-19 crisis on the hospitality sector had reduced the demand for its services and argued that the job cuts were necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of the business. The activities of the Tinsley hub will be shared between the company's two other distribution centres in the area.

The trade union Unite said the redundancy plans were a “disgrace” and announced that it intends to seek a mandate to proceed to an industrial action ballot at Tradeteam's UK sites

Tradeteam is owned by DHL, the world’s largest logistics company. The Tinsley hub distributes the products of well-known brands such as Carlsberg and Whitbread.
