Description

The large Danish windmill producer Vestas announced on 26 Oct 2010 that close to 2706 employees were made redundant. 1919 wil be fired in Denmark where four factories will be closed. At the global level, Vestas expects to fire 787, mostly salaried employees in administration. There is no information about the locations. The company is conducting layoffs because they anticipate that demand for wind turbines in Europe will go down in 2011.
