Vítkovice Steel, the third largest Czech steel company, has announced the closure of its steel mill at the Ostrava site, which will result in the termination of over 300 jobs by the end of 2015. Depending on the career length, redundant workers can get an average severance pay of CZK 450 thousand (16 540 EUR). At present, the firm employs around 1,100 people.
