Vorwerk, a manufacturer of built-in kitchens, has announced that it is to close its production and distribution site in Wuppertal with the loss of 250 jobs. Production and employment at the site is scheduled to end by the end of June 2008. Management at the firm have attributed the closure to a decline in the demand for built-in kitchens.
