Waitrose supermarket chain will create 150 new jobs when it opens a new store in Evesham, Worcestershire. The store is due to open in March 2018. A new building is being constructed to house the business, which is being supported by Wychavon District Council. The council are building the store and will retain ownership of the site, with Waitrose being the tenant. Waitrose previously announced a major expansion which took place throughout 2016. A spokesperson for the council commented that it was hoped that the new store would have a similar effect on the town as had been experienced when Waitrose opened in nearby Droitwich.
