Additional Information
On 21 June 2010, the Styrian leather producer Wollsdorf Leder announced the creation of 100 jobs by the end of the year.
The specialist in the field of leather for the automotive, upholstery, marine, aircraft and garment industries was hit hard by the financial crisis, forcing it to close down its production site in Wilhelmsburg last year. The number of staff was reduced from 800 to 600 but management expect turnover to increase again from EUR 80 million in 2008/09 to EUR 95 million in 2009/10, allowing the company to recruit an additional 100 employees for its two sites in Wollsdorf (tannery) and Weiz (stamping). Furthermore, a new production site will be opened in China in 2011.
