Description
Yahoo! is to make 52 of its 251 employees (20% of its workforce) redundant at both its plants in France at Paris and Grenoble. The restructuring measures are part of a 'plan to safeguard jobs' for the rest of the employees. The redundancies are part of a cost cutting plan announced last October, to save $400 million. The principal workers involved will be engineers.
The company had already laid off 140 employees last November, when they sold their subsidiary Kelkoo, a price comparison internet company (for information only - these figures not included in this factsheet).
