Additional Information
On 30 January 2012, a leading Polish ammunition producer Zakłady Produkcji Specjalnej (ZPS) announced plans to dismiss 142 employees.
The job cuts are said to be due to lack of orders and contracts with the Polish army. In January, the company informed the Poviat Employment Agency about the planned redundancies. Arkadiusz Szulecki, president of the ZPS, said that the production should be resumed in June 2012, when a new contract with the Polish army is expected to be signed.
Zakłady Produkcji Specjalnej (ZPS) is part of the Bumar Group. The Bumar Group consists of 20 manufacturing and trading companies specialized in the production of munitions, radars, rockets and armour as well as construction, agricultural plants, and construction service companies.
