On 27 September 2017, ZF Slovakia, the subsidiary of German automotive supplier ZF, has laid the cornerstone of its new production plant in Sahy. The company will create about 400 new jobs in the new plant where automotive absorbers will be produced. ZF will invest around €12million to the new plant which will spread on 10,000 m2. The production is planned to begin on 1 March 2018. ZF Slovakia employs about 2,500 employees in plants in Levice and Trnava. The unemployment is a serious problem in Sahy region, and Stefan Gregor, the Major of Sahy, welcomes the new plant to Sahy where school dropouts and skilled workers could benefit from new job opportunities.
