This report looks in detail at recent shifts in the employment structure at Member State and EU level, examining the main sectors and occupations that have contributed to job loss and job growth. It finds, for example, that in 2011–2013, the majority of net employment losses continued to occur in middle-paid and low-to-middle-paid jobs in construction and manufacturing. Employment growth remained resilient in high-paid, high-skilled jobs, and knowledge-intensive services have been the main source of this growth. The report also examines some of the likely drivers behind the changing employment structure: technological change, globalisation and labour market institutions.

    Fatores determinantes da recente polarização do emprego e da melhoria da sua qualidade na Europa: Observatório Europeu de Ofertas de Emprego 2014

    Autor(es):
    Eurofound
    O relatório analisa de forma circunstanciada as mudanças ocorridas recentemente na estrutura do emprego a nível dos Estados-Membros e da UE, examinando os principais setores e profissões que contribuíram para a perda de emprego e para o crescimento do mesmo. Constata, por exemplo, que, em 2011-2013, a maior parte das perdas de emprego líquidas ocorreu em empregos com remuneração média e média-baixa, nos setores da construção e da indústria transformadora. O crescimento do emprego manteve a resiliência nos postos de trabalho altamente qualificados e bem remunerados, devendo-se, sobretudo, aos serviços com utilização intensiva de conhecimentos. O relatório examina igualmente alguns dos fatores que poderão estar na origem das mudanças da estrutura do emprego: a evolução tecnológica, a globalização e as instituições do mercado de trabalho.
