The third wave of Eurofound’s European Company Survey was carried out in 2013. It surveyed management representatives in over 24,000 establishments; where available, employee representatives were also interviewed – in 6,800 of these establishments. The European Company Survey captured workplace practices in terms of work organisation, workplace innovation, human resource management, direct participation and social dialogue. After setting out the findings, this report then examines how these practices relate to each other and to the outcomes for companies and workers. Overall, the European Company Survey 2013 finds that establishments that used joint employee-management decision-making on daily tasks, have a moderately  structured internal organisation, make a limited investment in human resource management but have extensive practices for direct participation score best both in terms of company  performance and workplace well-being.

    Terceiro Inquérito Europeu às Empresas (ECS) – Práticas no local de trabalho: Padrões, desempenho e bem-estar

    Autor(es):
    Eurofound

    A terceira vaga do Inquérito Europeu às Empresas da Eurofound teve lugar em 2013. Inquiriu representantes da Gestão em mais de 24 000 estabelecimentos; sempre que possível, foram igualmente entrevistados representantes dos trabalhadores, em concreto, em 6800 desses estabelecimentos. O inquérito abarcou as práticas no local de trabalho respeitantes à organização do trabalho, gestão de recursos humanos, participação direta e diálogo social. Depois de definir as conclusões, o presente relatório analisa de que forma se estabelece uma interação entre estas práticas e entre estas e os resultados para as empresas e os trabalhadores. No geral, conclui que os estabelecimentos que optaram por um processo de tomada de decisões conjunto – gestão e trabalhadores – sobre as tarefas diárias, que têm uma organização interna moderadamente estruturada, que fazem um investimento limitado na gestão de recursos humanos, mas que adotam práticas extensivas no que respeita à participação direta, obtêm melhores resultados, tanto em termos de desempenho como de bem-estar no local de trabalho.
