Social convergence has gained an equal footing alongside economic convergence as an EU goal in the wake of the economic crisis. This report presents the results of a study into convergence in working conditions, a major component of social policymaking. It examines whether working conditions have improved over the past two decades in the EU as a whole and whether dissimilarities between Member States in this area have narrowed. The study includes analyses of both the trends and drivers of convergence plus expert interview data on two policy instruments that have the potential to promote convergence. Findings indicate upward convergence in working conditions overall, but uneven progress across Member States.

    Convergência ascendente nas condições de trabalho

    Autor(es):
    Eurofound

    A convergência social ganhou em pé de igualdade, juntamente com a convergência económica, como um objetivo da UE na sequência da crise económica. O presente relatório apresenta os resultados de um estudo sobre a convergência nas condições de trabalho, uma componente importante do processo de elaboração de políticas sociais. Examina se as condições de trabalho melhoraram nas duas últimas décadas em toda a UE e se as disparidades entre os Estados-Membros neste domínio diminuíram. O estudo inclui análises das tendências e dos fatores de convergência, bem como dados de entrevistas de peritos sobre dois instrumentos políticos com potencial para promover a convergência. Os resultados indicam uma convergência ascendente nas condições de trabalho em geral, mas progressos desiguais entre os Estados-Membros.
