Examining quality of life in 28 European countries, including the acceding and candidate countries as well as the current Member States of the EU, this report focuses on the topic of low income and standard of living deprivation and provides an analysis of views and experiences of the citizens of the new Europe on aspects relating to income such as economic strain, income deprivation and multiple disadvantage. The analysis is based on data from the European Commission’s Eurobarometer survey carried out in the acceding and candidate countries in Spring 2002 and standard EU 15 Eurobarometers.
