Eurofound has conducted the European Quality of Life Survey EQLS) in 2003, 2007 and 2011. This report compares the results from the three waves to provide evidence of trends and change in the quality of life of Europeans over a decade. It also examines whether differences across EU Member States have narrowed or remained stable. One of its findings is that subjective well-being has remained stable across the EU as whole, but it also finds that financial strain in households has grown in the wake of the economic crisis. The report proposes a more active approach to social protection, as lower household income is a strong negative influence on quality of life, and especially so in an economic downturn.

    Calitatea vieții în Europa: Tendințe în perioada 2003-2012

    Autor(i):
    Eurofound
    Eurofound a realizat Sondajul european privind calitatea vieții (EQLS) în 2003, 2007 și 2011. Prezentul raport compară rezultatele celor trei ediții pentru a oferi dovezi ale tendințelor și modificărilor la nivelul calității vieții europenilor din ultimul deceniu. De asemenea, raportul analizează dacă diferențele dintre statele membre ale UE s-au redus sau au rămas stabile. Una dintre constatările raportului este că bunăstarea subiectivă a rămas stabilă în UE în ansamblu, însă dificultățile financiare ale gospodăriilor au sporit în contextul crizei economice. Raportul propune o abordare mai activă a protecției sociale, dat fiind că scăderea veniturilor gospodăriilor are un efect negativ puternic asupra calității vieții, în special pe fondul încetinirii creșterii economice.

  • European Quality of Life Surveys

    The European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS) is carried out every four to five years since its inception in 2003, with the latest edition in 2016. It examines both the objective circumstances of people's lives and how they feel about those circumstances and their lives in general. It covers issues around employment, income, education, housing, family, health and work–life balance. It also looks at subjective topics, such as people's levels of happiness and life satisfaction, and perceptions of the quality of society.
