Job creation incentives: how to better integrate policies to create sustainable jobs

The event is organised by the European Commission, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion at the Husa President Hotel in Brussels on Wednesday, 25 June 2014.
This thematic event of the mutual learning programme will focus on the role of job creation incentives (hiring, self-employment and entrepreneurship subsidies) to stimulate labour demand, besides supply-side measures and will reflect on how these subsidies are being designed and their complementarity with other policies.
The conference will bring together around 120 delegates from across the EU and include a number of presentations from the European Commission, national government officials, social partner representatives, non-governmental organisations and international experts. Opportunities for debate and discussion will follow.
Donald Storrie, Head of Employment and Change at Eurofound, will participate in the session on 'Employment package - Stepping up job creation: The role of subsidies' and will give a presentation on Where are the new jobs? In which sectors and occupations and what are their wages and job quality?
