Povzetek

Around one third (34%) of workplaces with 10 or more employees have a trade union or works council body in place. Considerable variation exists between countries: the rate is above 55% in Denmark, Sweden and Finland but below 20% in countries such as Turkey, Greece and Portugal. Substantial variations also exist depending on industry sector and workplace size. Many of these characteristics are related to the presence or absence of a trade union or works council. Workplace representation is more prevalent in countries where national or sectoral bargaining dominates. It is also higher in countries with more extensive levels of legislative support for workplace representation. An executive summary is available - see Related content.

    Kako socialni dialog deluje v praksi, katere oblike predstavništva so na voljo in kako dobro se obnesejo? Eurofoundova evropska raziskava podjetij (ECS) iz leta 2009 vsebuje izčrpne podatke iz 30 držav za obravnavo teh vprašanj. To poročilo upošteva raziskavo ECS in druge vire ter obravnava pomembne dejavnike, kot so velikost podjetja, starost podjetja, vrsta proizvodov in storitev, ki jih ponuja, izbire delodajalca in sestava delovne sile, ki vplivajo na usmeritev socialnega dialoga v podjetju, zlasti v zvezi s sveti delavcev in sindikati. Tudi širši okvir ima svoj učinek, na primer na to, v kolikšni meri nacionalne vlade posegajo v socialni dialog in na kateri ravni potekajo pogajanja.
