Union of Founders and Self-employed Germany (Verband der Gründer und Selbstständigen Deutschland, VGSD)

The Union of Founders and Self-employed in Germany is a support network for self-employed and small business owners. It aims to serve as representation of interests and among others addresses issues of bogus self-employment. The membership is based on a small monthly fee and provides the opportunity to actively network within the framework of regular regional meetings of members, join discussion panels, tool kits, contract forms, checklists etc. 

In 2016, the union launched a petition demanding regulations for ensuring legal protection for self-employed persons and clients. It furthermore addresses the need of pension plans, health insurance of health, long-term care and unemployment benefits.
