About EMCC

Set up in 2001, the European Monitoring Centre on Change (EMCC) is an information resource established to promote an understanding of changes in the world of work, employment, labour markets and restructuring.

The EMCC's mission is to cast a spotlight on the economic and social developments that drive change in employment and labour markets in the EU. It highlights the role of shifts in technology, production models and regulation in a context of developments in the global economy. More specifically, the EMCC:

  • provides up-to-date news and analysis on company restructuring and relevant policy initiatives through the European Restructuring Monitor
  • presents relevant information on the major trends and drivers of change in employment and European labour markets through the European Jobs Monitor
  • carries out and publishes strategic research in labour-market related areas of common interest to main Eurofound stakeholders (NEETS, age management policy, the relationship between employment growth and job quality)
  • identifies emerging and potential labour market trends.

Key focus

  • Employment and labour market trends
  • Restructuring

Target audience

The EMCC aims to serve the main Eurofound stakeholders, including European social partners, EU institutions and Member State governments, as well as policymakers and practitioners in the employment and labour markets as well as the restructuring field.
