La Pájara cooperative

La Pájara is a platform cooperative based in Madrid, which aims to offer a local alternative to the large platforms in the sector. Resulting from the experience of the precarious working conditions associated with platforms such as Glovo and Deliveroo, the cooperative attempts to create a solid and sustainable project that offers safe and decent work opportunities. The association is based on self-organisation and democratic management and supports responsible consumption and local commerce by establishing relationships with local customers and collaborators. Deliveries are performed solely by bike in order to limit carbon emissions. The cooperative also exchanges knowledge and tools in a network of social and solidarity initiatives, at local, national and European level via the federation CoopCycle.
