Minimum wage setting

There are different methods of setting minimum wages in the European Union. The following map shows the process of setting minimum wages in 2019. While in many countries statutory minimum wage exists and are (almost) generally applicable, statutory minimum wages in Cyprus are applicable only in parts of the economy. In the remaining countries, non-statutory minimum wages are only established in collective agreements. Hover over the map to understand how minimum wages are implemented in each country - this could be done via ministerial decree or law or via collective agreements.
