Description

Stockholm Municipality is to hire between 300 and 1500 new employees next year in order to meet the needs of the arriving refugees. At least 300 new employees will be hired to handle temporary housing, primarily for children who have arrived in Sweden unaccompanied. Beyond the need for social workers the city is planning to recruit a large amount of teachers and further training will be provided for the current staff. Between the 20 August and the 20 October, 902 refugees entered the Swedish primary school system.

In response to the refugee crisis both Gothenburg Muncipality and Malmö Municipality have hired a large number of new employees as well.
