The start of 2005 saw the Foundation begin its new four-year work programme Changing Europe: Better work, better life. This theme will guide the direction of Foundation research over the next four years: to provide reliable data on longterm trends and develop ideas, gleaned from experience, for improving living and working conditions. The year’s end culminated in the appointment of the Foundation’s new Director, Jorma Karppinen. See Annexes.
