It provides some of the fundamental ideas of economic geography, presents some relevant data and defines some key concepts. The conference itself [3-5 June 2008, Poznań, Poland] which brings together representatives from companies, the social partners and policymakers, aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of what is required from all parties to ensure a competitive and socially cohesive Europe.
