Abstract
This brochure summarises the proceedings of a European conference which was held in the Hague in May 1997. The conference represented one of the first systematic attempts to explore the economics of occupational safety and health (OSH) at European, national and company levels. The participants were researchers, technical experts, policy makers, employers and trade unionists from all Member States of the EU and beyond. They were provided with a wide-ranging overview of the issues at the level of policy, practice and research.
