Environmental management and safety and health: design for sustainable development

A report on the EU's Environmental Management and Audit Scheme and its interaction with the management of safety and health. Systems for environmental management or health and safety management may be integrated or set up separately, or they may be part of an explicit total quality management strategy. In this publication the focus is on the interactions at company and at policy level. To illustrate the relevance of the relevance of the interactions at company level, five case studies or front-runner companies in different EU countries have been included.
