This report examines the issues of entrepreneurship and self-employment, as raised by the Work Options Survey. Who are the self-employed, and what are the characteristics of those with an interest in self-employment, are the main questions addressed in this chapter. Among the currently employed, thirteen per cent are self-employed. Women are still underrepresented among this category.
