Training for sustainable development: report on a European seminar

New training needs have arisen out of the rise of green consumerism and the promotion of sustainable development. Increasing numbers of companies are now specifying minimum environmental performance/social responsibility standards of their suppliers, who must comply if they are to maintain business. This is a report from a European seminar whose aims were to highlight the principal challenges facing European professional training sechemes and programmes; to establish the specific problems to be addressed; and to identify the priorities for action.
