Dutch bank ABN Amro has announced plans to create 400 new positions. The bank is investing €85 million and employing staff in order to combat money laundering. According to the source, in some client files important information is missing. Research has found that about €16 billion are laundered every year in the Netherlands. Since 2013, ABN Amro has tripled its number of employees involved in fighting money laundering to about 1,000 full time jobs.
Previous restructurings took place in 2018 (250 jobs lost) and 2016 (2,475 jobs lost).
