Description

Insurance company Aviva has announced plans to cut 800 jobs across the UK in a bid to save £400m and as a continuation of its previously announced EU-wide restructuring programme (see here).

It is reported that some of the cuts will be implemented through redeployment and voluntary redundancies. There might also be job creation in growth areas.

The Unite union called the cuts 'totally unacceptable'. A timeline for the restructuring has yet to be announced.
