Description

Dow Corning a multinational company specialized in the production of silicon and silicon-based products has announced the dismissal of 92 employees at its facility in Sernesse. The layoffs are part of a bigger reorganisation effort by Dow Corning across the globe, which in its turn is the consequence of its recent acquisition by Dow Chemical. The dismissals were announced around June this year but only recently has the definitive number of layoffs been confirmed. Trade unions will now discuss the number of employees that will leave voluntarily and those that will be forced to leave. In total 2500 Dow Corning/ Dow Chemical employees worldwide will lose their jobs following the merger.
