The dismissals were announced around June this year but only recently has the definitive number of layoffs been confirmed. Trade unions will now discuss the number of employees that will leave voluntarily and those that will be forced to leave. In total 2500 Dow Corning/ Dow Chemical employees worldwide will lose their jobs following the merger.
