Description

East of England Co-op has announced plans to close its regional distribution centre in Ipswich. The move, which will result in the loss of 155 jobs at the site is a result of the decision to merge with the retailer's national distribution network. A consultation on the proposed closure is now underway. The employer has said that there may be some opportunities for redeployment to a location in Essex, though details on this possibility have not been fully disclosed. The closure of the Ipswich site is expected to happen sometime in October 2019.
