Pivovarna Laško Union, a beer brewery in Laško and Ljubljana, plans to close its brewery in Ljubljana and 145 jobs are at risk. Heineken, the owner of the company, announced the closure of Ljubljana brewery Union and its relocation to Laško or somewhere else until January 2021. However, it kept a secret how many workers would lose their jobs. Recently, the information became public that the company is relocating the finance department with 56 employees to Krakow in Poland. On New Year’s Eve, workers hung an inscription to protest. Some of the 145 employees may be reemployed in Laško or somewhere else, but many will most probably lose their jobs.
