Description

The State Forest Management Centre (RMK), which preserves and manages Estonian forests, is to dismiss 140 people who have rejected other jobs offered by the company. The State Forest Management Centre (RMK) will adopt a restructuring plan on 1 July 2008 to increase its effectiveness. The restructuring process will affect 509 administrative employees in the forestry field. The offer to continue working in RMK was accepted by 316 people and rejected by 140 people. Another 50 jobs will be lost through natural decline (retirement) or early retirement. Only 3 employees found work elsewhere. RMK was established on the 1st January 1999 and is one of the biggest employers in Estonia. RMK's headquarter is situated in Tallinn, but the departments are located all over Estonia.
