Description

On 19 January 2017, automotive supplier and producer of anti-vibrations systems Vibracoustic announced to close its site in Breuenberg by the end of 2018. These measure will affect 240 employees. All 176 jobs from the production site will be cut and 64 employees from the IT division, material development and administration departments will be transferred to the company's site in Weinheim.

Vibracoustic will transfer the production to other European sites. According to the management, the closure is unavoidable in order to restore competitiveness. Already in 2014 and 2015, the company, which was then called Trelleborg Vibracoustic, cut a total of 245 jobs in Breuenberg, see (Trelleborg Vibracoustic, 2013); (Trelleborg Vibracoustic, 2014).

Vibracoustic currently employs around 1,600 employees in Germany and about 10,000 worldwide.
