Description
Volvo, the multi-national manufacturer of motor vehicles, is to cut 250 jobs across Sweden. The sites that are to be affected by the restructuring are Göteborg, Skövde and Olofström. There is no news as of August 2007 as to the number of job losses that will affect each plant, but it is expected that the job losses are to implemented by the end of November 2007. It is also expected that employees over the age of 55 who are affected by the restructuring will be offered voluntary retirement packages.
